The Indian Administrative Service is the arm of Indian Civil Services. It is recognized as the primary civil service of India. It is one of the three administrative arms of the All India Services. The Levels Of An IAS Officer:
- An IAS officer joins the administration of the state at a sub-divisional level. Either as a District Magistrate in a district or Joint Commissioner in the State Government.
- As a civil servant, his/her duty is to look after the general administration of the area assigned. The law and order also need to be taken in control by the sub-divisional magistrate.

IAS EXAM Eligibility
- A bachelor’s degree in any field from an acknowledged university.
- Minimum 21 years and maximum of 32 years of age.
- Lastly, a candidate can give a maximum of six attempts for this exam. Relaxation is available for SC/ST and OBC categories.
